Professional Development

The Florida League of Christian Schools is comprised of schools of distinction. In an effort to maintain schools of excellence, FLOCS provides ample opportunities for administrators and teachers to hone their natural teaching talents. With a focus on Florida and national frameworks, FLOCS endeavors to create educational environments which reflect best practices, research-based solutions, and lab-tested strategies. All FLOCS educational programs offer Continuing Education Credits, state-mandated Hours of Observation, and can be used for license renewal.

Professional Development Provider

The Florida Department of Education recognizes the Florida League of Christian Schools as a provider of Master In-service Program (MIP), Professional Educational Competency (PEC) Training programs and as a liaison of state teacher certification for FLOCS educators.

Annual Professional Conference

The Florida League of Christian Schools hosts the Annual FLOCS Conference each fall where top industry presenters and teacher trainers provide two days of concentrated professional training. Additionally, teachers attending the conference qualify for CEU's which can be used for license renewal. Visit the Events page for dates and locations, as well as registration information.

Annual Administrator's Meeting and Retreat

Each year, FLOCS provides a powerful training for administrators. The annual Administrator's meeting is a time for administrators from both early childhood education and K-12 alike to get updated knowledge on legislative/legal issues, best practices, and research models. The meeting is followed by a wonderful retreat for a time of physical refreshment and spiritual renewal. Visit the Events Page for dates and locations, as well as registration information.

Advanced Degrees

Through our partnership with Southeastern University, FLOCS offers a wide array of programs which allow teachers and administrators to gain valuable and relevant knowledge while working toward advanced degrees.

Florida Child Care Professional Credential Training Program

Professional Educator's Competencies (PEC)

The Florida League of Christian Schools offers PEC training which is a training for meeting the state's beginning teacher program (new teachers from college or out of state) to acquire teacher certification with the Department of Education.  PEC deals specifically with the 12 competencies required prior to professional teacher certification. For Christian schools hiring teachers who would like to become licensed by the state of Florida, this program is required.

Master Inservice Program (MIS)

The FLOCS Master In-service Program (MIS) outlines our in-service program and the steps to meet teacher certification and renewal.  We have referred to it as the Professional Orientation Program (POP).

Clinical Educator Training (CET)

The Clinical Educator Training is provided for administrators and teachers who work together observing, coaching, and mentoring new teachers in these competencies.  There is no time frame for observations or practice unless they want in-service credit or CEUs for the training. FLOCS provides observations during the training.  Administrators and teachers are entitled to additional in-service hours if they assist in the observation and coaching of a new teacher.   This program is updated periodically to ensure state compliance.
