FLOCS is the state chapter of the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS) and facilitates all Florida accreditation processes for ACTS. The halmark of academic and organizaitonal accountability, the ACTS accreditation program is the flagship of FLOCS services. Additionally, the ACTS accreditation is recognized as a Gold Seal program and QUALIFIES FOR VPK!
Because the accreditation process is so closely tied with the certification process, previously stated steps for
certification must have been followed. A preschool can begin the accreditation process after being in operation for at least one year. To apply for accreditation, you will need to download the Preschool Accreditation Guidelines.
Once a preschool submits its initial application for accreditation, a chairperson will be appointed to make an initial on-site visit to the preschool, and to assist the preschool in publishing a self-study. A visiting team will conduct a multi-day site visit upon completion of the self-study. After acceptance of the chairperson's final report, the accreditation commission may award accreditation to the preschool.
Accredited centers will continue to be inspected twice each year in accordance with the FLOCS Preschool Manual.
