- Member: Any school or center can become a member of FLOCS. As a professional service organization, FLOCS offers professional development, teacher and administrative resources, as well as student activities to member schools. However, there is NO accountability or quality assessment as a member. For more information on membership, visit the membership page.
- Certified Religious Exempt Member: Florida League of Christian Schools
is recognized by the State of Florida Department of Children and Families as a
certification agent for Christian schools and childcare facilities according to
ordinances 402.301, 402.316, and 402.319 regarding religious exemption. All childcare centers certified
under the Florida League of Christian Schools are closely monitored and
maintain standards according to the Florida League of Christian Schools bylaws. This program DOES NOT allow for receiving VPK funds! For more information on Certification, visit the certification page.
- Accredited Member: FLOCS is the state chapter of the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS) and facilitates all Florida accreditations for ACTS. The ACTS accreditation is recognized as a Gold Seal program and QUALIFIES FOR VPK! For more information on accreditation, visit the accreditation page.
More on VPK:
One important program for funding in the state of Florida is the VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) program, which offers state subsidized tuition for 4-year-old programs.
The VPK program is administered through the Agency for Workforce Innovation THROUGH the local early learning coalitions. To find the early learning coalition in your area, click here.
To participate in the Voluntary Prekindergarten program, administered by the Agency for Workforce Innovation through local early learning coalitions, child care programs must be accredited in one of two ways:
- Through the Gold Seal Quality Care Program, or
- By an association that is a member of one of the three umbrella associations listed in statute (National Council for Private School Accreditation - NCPSA, Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation - CITA, or Florida Association of Academic Nonpublic Schools - FAANS), whose written standards meet or exceed those of the state.
